Ian Nathan Empire Magazine Swords and silly special effects in this enjoyable adventure. Rated: 3/5 Mar 24, 2015 Full Review Jay Cocks TIME Magazine Sinbad is light, silly fun, and kids will probably appreciate both the skillful technique of the fantasy and the fact that the film makers have had the good sense not to include a single -- yecchh! -- kissing scene. Mar 24, 2015 Full Review Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader [Its] main raison d'etre is some first-rate "Dynamation" special effects from Ray Harryhausen. Mar 24, 2015 Full Review Donald Miller Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Enough to excite any child's imagination. Mar 8, 2024 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The magnitude of the creatures and combat are unfortunately unable to match the first film, though this indirect sequel is still a highly entertaining production. Rated: 6/10 Aug 30, 2020 Full Review Christopher Hudson The Spectator Easily the best of the Christmas films for children and an exciting film for anyone to see. David W One of my all time favourite adventure fantasy movies. The cast are great. Caroline Monro is in full effect as possibly one of the most beautiful woman to have ever walked the earth and is perfect in the role. Tom Baker is as magnetically entertaining as always and John Phillip Law makes for a fantastic Sinbad. Ray Harryhausens special effects always bring a massive smile of happiness to my heart and remind me of my childhood. There's simply nothing that I don't love about this. Like wrapping myself in a wonderful theatrical blanket and sailing off to the seas of my youth. One of the truly great classic adventure fantasy films. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review jordan m This one was less impressive than 7th Voyage had been, mostly because there weren't any apparent advances in Harryhausen's technique despite the 16 year difference in release date. The story was less compelling this time but still served its purpose of stringing the stop motion together without being boring about it. I remain thoroughly surprised that they got away with so revealing a costume on the girl with this being G-rated and all that. The ship siren was the highlight of the movie for me and was perhaps better than any of the stop-motion sequences in 7th Voyage. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A fairy tale full with charm, adventure and the power of passionate filmmaking. Not flawless, but full of imagination and my favourite movie of all time. Ray Harryhausen was a master of his craft and though you see that his creations are puppets, they feel alive, which I cannot say about a lot of CGI-animated creatures that dominate the big screen today. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member caroline munro was very entertaining. The movie is fantastic. The animation is phenomenal. this is the sinbad movie i most remember. just a great movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member In some ways this was more enjoyable than The 7th Voyage of Sinbad. Harryhausen' work is the centerpiece, of course. Hall delivers a fairly charismatic performance as our hero and Munro makes for a stunning love interest. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Jack Sparrow wouldn't get a look in! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
