The strength of Good Morning, Night is not in winking meta-drama but in a clear-eyed, restorative realism that's occasionally broken by quiet flights of fancy. Go to Full Review

The race between her deep-set ideology and burgeoning conscience is a compelling one, but there are too many shortcuts -- from fevered dreams to convenient coincidences -- along the way. Go to Full Review

Sober yet filled with fancy. There's a wistful aspect to the movie. Go to Full Review

The film offers apt comparisons to our current politics: the uncompromising elements of the environmental and animal rights movements on the left, and the anti-immigration vigilantes of the right. Go to Full Review

david f 07/03/2022 This is a fictionalized treatment of a true story - the kidnapping of former Prime Minister of Italy, Aldo Moro - but it lacks the suspense and tension of a true crime story and goes off in some boring directions. See more nefasto r @Nefasto 10/09/2018 ...e alle volte mi piace pensare che sia andata veramente cosí... Struggente, e data la storia non poteva che essere altrimenti. See more 12/08/2012 Although the subject is interesting (Aldo Moro's assassination by the Red Brigades in 78), the movie has plot gaps and fails to describe the events in detail. A reflection on the murder of an innocent man by fanatical idealogues, reminiscent of the beheading of Paul Berg in Iraq. See more 07/29/2011 Un suceso histórico para Italia que yo no conocía. See more 11/29/2010 The Kidnapping of Aldo Moro in 1978 left Italy in a state of morass and one which led to a corrupt system of goverment for years to come. What this film does is give a human side to the kidnappers and Moro Himself. Maya Sansa is very good as Chiana one of the kidnappers which the film balances most of the narrrative drive . Her acting is world class as she tries to reamin normal in extraordinary circumstances, her mundane job in a libary and her fantasys and dreams move the film forward and keep the focus and interest high. Both sides of the political spectrum are heard and the director never loses focus on the main players in the film. What also wworks well is the use of classical and modern music in the film . From Shubert to the wonder of Pink Floyd the score is powerful and well done and gives the film a real edge and bite. Like Germany ,Italy is facing its past with deftly handled movies and this is one of those films . A little cracker See more Read all reviews
