What to Know

Critics Consensus

Seann William Scott remains as watchable as ever in the title role, but Goon: Last of the Enforcers repeats its predecessor's violent and profane formula to diminishing effect.

Simran Hans Observer (UK) [An] inane sequel ... Rated: 2/5 Sep 10, 2017 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian Nobody lands the one knockout punchline to elevate matters above tolerable mediocrity. Rated: 2/5 Sep 8, 2017 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) Tedious and ultra-violent. Rated: 1/5 Sep 7, 2017 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review It engages in random, albeit funny asides rooted in its foul-mouthed characters, bloody hockey violence, and intentional stupidity. For many, that will be enough to justify this sequel to the 2012 cult favorite, Goon. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 17, 2022 Full Review David Bax Battleship Pretension Goon: Last of the Enforcers' main problem is an abundance of go-nowhere plotting. Dec 11, 2020 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Baruchel's passion is still present and appreciated, but he's capable of so much more, especially as a first-time feature director. He shoots, but he doesn't quite score. May 13, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Martin B Too many F words too much blood and gore. A bad movie by any reasonable measure. That said it has heart in places. Get past the over the top crude language and gratuitous violence it will keep you interested and not let you down. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/02/23 Full Review Aaron S It's a real shell of its predecessor, but it's still an enjoyably unconventional sports story. The characters all remain the real charm of the movie, but the writing and direction let this sequel down by comparison to the first. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Fine movie. Just turn your brain off and enjoy. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member There's a reason there aren't many sequels to sports movies. Routine and uneventful, the added twists with the nemesis were different and a fair attempt to try and make a unique sports sequel. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing sequel to hidden gem. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member not quite as good as the first, really funny though not so bad, really underrated, this comes close to the original despite not having as much hockey game scenes as the first but still good hockey drama.
