Steven D. Greydanus National Catholic Register While Brandon's own faith never wavers, the film cross-examines Christian pieties and even faith itself to a greater degree than any other faith-based film I can think of. Rated: B+ Aug 26, 2016 Full Review Josh Kupecki Austin Chronicle Greater loses its way from the get-go; you can't root for an underdog who is sleepwalking through his own movie. Rated: 2/5 Aug 25, 2016 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Just sweet enough and slick enough to appeal to pigskin fans and Christian family audiences. Aug 24, 2016 Full Review Hosea Rupprecht Pauline Media Studies There have been inspirational football movies in the past, such as Rudy, but what sets Greater apart is the subtlety and power of its faith message. Aug 27, 2021 Full Review Megan Basham WORLD Along with multiple music montages showing Brandon in training, the movie is cluttered with general churchy fluff. Mar 5, 2018 Full Review Craig D. Lindsey L.A. Weekly Yes, Burlsworth was truly an angel among us, but Greater takes the audience through some heavy-handed hell. Dec 19, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews

Zachary Jacob S I'm not a huge football fan by any means, but still found this film enjoyable! I feel that the message was pretty powerful. The score did take the scene in a few spots! The film is not perfect. There are aspects and choices that I don't particularly like or agree with. But honestly, I did like it overall. I think it's worth a watch! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/24 Full Review Audience Member Neither my wife nor myself were football fans in the 90s. We found "Greater" on Netflix recently and fell in love with the Burlsworth story. We didn't say 'the Brandon Burlsworth story' because an entire family experienced the events depicted here. This is more than an attempt to address a very difficult paradox, 'how can a good God allow bad things to happen?' We don't personally know the Burlsworth family. But from what we've read it appears the film is likely an accurate glimpse into Barbara Burlsworth's personal challenges. (who passed away three days ago) It's about a mother's life well-lived. It's about character. It's about how to earn the title, Role Model from a mother's perspective as well as the underdog's. Hats off to the producers for telling this story without bending it. . . just letting it unfold, portraying the difficulties and challenges of life. Greater's background is the faith community in Arkansas. Without key male figures involving themselves from the sidelines (some literally, some not) Brandon's formative season may have passed without his finding a way to thrive. In a way, this is how life is supposed to work: a networking community of folks. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review donnie m i really needed some inspiration tonight and found this-what a great movie about GOD-family and football and the life of a great kid who believed Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/24 Full Review Vanessa C The actors did what they could with what they had. But the overall story is a must see!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/21/24 Full Review S R A good story, but not be very well told. I remember not liking AR in the 90s because of Clinton, but maybe I’ll reconsider my decisions. Saw on Netflix. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/24 Full Review Audience Member I'm from the UK so didn't know anything about this young man. I didn't know he passed away I thought I was going to watch an NHL greatest kind of film. It was great.. Great acting and heart wrenching story. Not a religious person but his and his familiesfaith was just beautiful. Definitely worth a watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Read all reviews
