Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle Rated: 3/5 Nov 6, 2003 Full Review Lawrence Frascella The Advocate Grief is not a particularly challenging or groundbreaking film. But it is very funny, heartwarming entertainment with an uncompromising gay bent: Imagine The Mary Tyler Moore Show in an alternative universe. Apr 5, 2022 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Despite the rich emotional and comic possibilities, Grief is dull (the dialogue is strained)and ultra-modest, which could be a function of its miniscule budget and/or lack of experience of its director, Richard Glatzer. Rated: C+ Jan 30, 2006 Full Review Christopher Null Filmcritic.com not worth watching for much beyond its novelty value Rated: 2/5 Jul 3, 2004 Full Review Read all reviews

wendell j A magical film. Made on no budget, it portrays the AIDS crisis with dramatic comedy that is sharp and moving. I have never forgotten it since I first saw it and it holds up well today. Ferociously sexy and funny, it remains a small film that never fails to move the heart and surprise. It deserves multiple viewings. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A beautiful and moving film about loss and recovery. Craig Chester just totally broke my heart in this film - one of his best performances. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Film about a quirky group that writes for a show called "The Love Judge" kinda like the old "Divorce Court." Unfortunately the acting is quite bad over all, except for Illeana Douglas and Carlton Wilborn. Just unforgivably boring and monotonous. Just lots of whining and pining. No chemistry, actually no interaction between the characters, its like they're simply reading lines to each other. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this pic - saw it at the 94 Toronto film fest, knowing nothing about it in advance. Bought it on DVD - seeing it is bittersweet - lots of water under the bridge since those days for Alexis and the rest of us. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible production values and some of the most stilted acting I've ever seen pretty much sink Grief completely. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member One of my favourite movies of all time. A cult classic. Great performances throughout.
