See more Steven M 08/17/2023 The movie was groundbreaking in that it was (I think) the proto-Saturday Night Live. It is (like SNL) wildly uneven, but (in its time), it was extremely daring and some of the segments were very successful skewering of political and corporate hypocrisy and stand the test of time. See more 08/14/2021 To fully appreciate 'The Groove Tube', you need to have lived through the 70's. Its a wild and wacky collection of on-target spoofs from the genius minds of Ken Shapiro and Lane Sarasohn. Chevy Chase made his film debut here, and Richmond Baier lights up the screen with her all-too brief appearance. My favourite sketch though is 'The Dealers'. It should have been expanded into a full-length feature film. For me, this is the film 'The Kentucky Fried Movie' should have been. I'm so glad to have it on Blu-Ray in HD.
