Mike D'Angelo AV Club Its unusual amalgam of low-key, keenly observed naturalism and WTF inexplicability is potent enough to keep viewers enraptured. Dec 1, 2016 Full Review Alison Willmore BuzzFeed News This mesmerizing film from directors Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia is filled with images that suggest connections to myth - like the head of a giant classical statue that's shown floating, impossible, down the Hudson River. Apr 1, 2016 Full Review Monica Castillo RogerEbert.com It is an enigmatic film, full of story and conflict, yet spacious enough for our thoughts to fill the unclaimed space. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 1, 2016 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com A concoction of images and repeated symbols will lodge themselves in your mind after the credits roll, but your remembrance of the film may feel more like a murky nightmare than a cohesive cinematic experience. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 5, 2019 Full Review Betsy Sherman Arts Fuse H. relies on clever editing manipulations and pithy reaction shots rather than on flashy special effects. nilufer e It was exciting in the beginning, I wasn't sure if it was going to be a psychological thriller or and alien abduction sort of thing but it was neither. Too weird for my taste. Two Helens in a town called Troy, two opposite people, don't know what any of those mean. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member THERE WAS PLENTY OF INTERESTING IMAGERY AND SOME ODD BUT INTERESTING CHARACTERS, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE WITH WITH THEM. IT BEGAN INTERESTING, BUT WAS ULTIMATELY VERY DISAPPOINTING, SEEMING A WASTE OF MY TIME. IT WAS LIKE A TONED DOWN VERSION OF CAT SOUP. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review joe m Mysterious happenings in upstate NY in and around Troy after a meteor siting and the impact on two women named Helen. Intriguing and I watched it all the way through, but ultimately disappointing. Seems to be going for a Donnie Darko element with a more cerebral approach. Skip it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing. It was interesting enough to finish it but to much was unsaid. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
