Modest nurse Nora Gilpin (Loretta Young) has fond memories of a brief, youthful love with John Raymond (Joseph Cotten), now a prominent attorney. Ignoring those feelings, she accepts the marriage proposal of longtime suitor Tim McCarey (Cecil Kellaway). When she goes to sleep, however, the demure Nora sleepwalks to Raymond's house in a sexy dress to seduce him. Nora is confused when Raymond approaches her in the daytime, but slowly realizes that she is leading a different life while asleep.
