Audience Member A truly amazing balance between terror and pathos. This anxiety maker is enjoying an applauded revival during 2020 even though it was made in 2007. For many reasons it works incredibly well today because the themes are even more relevant. Excessive wealth and carelessness about it, disregard for the workers who maintain it and shattered families provide the gloomy platforms which have become more not less today. The characters have been meticulously crafted and nuanced by the author, which means they arrive at the script like a tailored suit ready for screenwriters and the actors. The beautiful manor house setting is a leading character with its seductive lifestyle catching all. A delicate and terrifying work of art. But not too arty - just right! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member OK, this was a very creepy story with very creepy characters. The story does give a few tense moments and henceforth the suspense is right there all along. Not a bad movie at all. I just advice not to watch when having the intention of falling asleep with this one, believe me it will keep you awake. Nice flick that reminded me of the old made for TV suspense-thriller-horror movies of the 70's. Decent, pop and well structured. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Buena película, muy dramática, en la que queda patente lo desgarradoramente "fácil" que es vivir en una mentira. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant film. When an excellent script is directed well and interpreted superbly by the actors you get something like this. The three main protaganists all are horrid, yet the audience feels something for them, probably due to the credibility of the performances but also because of the humane nature the film is portrayed. Very dark, but the sort of film the British do best. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Good character development in a story that slowly turns up the heat. Sad and spooky little film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member enjoyed every bit of it Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
