Ed R Not as good as the first. Decent nostalgia. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review D3Z 1 Despite Kalabar's Revenge's story not quite exactly land where the first feature had achieved, but it is still something fun and entertaining for those who want to look for something festive for Halloween. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge falls short, despite a strong start. As the second act drags, it struggles to keep the momentum going, making it a tough watch even now. Yet, for many fans, the film remains nostalgic, especially with iconic moments like Marnie’s mom transforming into the green witch—a scene that stole the spotlight in every commercial and remains a highlight. Despite its flaws, it’s still a must-watch for fans of the trilogy. 59% Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review matthias s *Halloweentown II* was exactly what I expected: a predictable, hollow sequel. While Debbie Reynolds is perfect for her role, bringing charm and energy to the film, the rest of the cast doesn’t measure up, especially Kimberly J. Brown, who delivers a flat performance as Marnie. The effects are extremely outdated, making the whole thing look cheap, like something I could have made myself. The plot had potential but the execution was weak and unengaging, making it a dull watch. It lacks the absurd charm that made the first *Halloweentown* enjoyable for all the wrong reasons. Maybe if I’d seen this as a kid, I would have appreciated it more, but as it stands, it’s just far more boring than the original. Overall, *Halloweentown II* fails to capture the magic and fun that made its predecessor a cult classic, leaving me disappointed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/15/24 Full Review Alec B Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge continues the journey of the Cromwell family, expanding on the bewitching universe introduced in its predecessor. Directed by Mary Lambert, the film blends whimsy, adventure, and a touch of spookiness, maintaining the Halloween spirit that fans adore. Kimberly J. Brown reprises her role as Marnie, now a more confident witch, alongside the charismatic Debbie Reynolds as the lovable Grandma Aggie. Halloweentown II proves to be a worthy continuation of the franchise, with the young cast growing up with each new installment. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review Kevin M Old movie but very cosy and festival feeling. The ending feels a bit rushed but overall is good Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
