This romantic comedy is about longtime lesbian couple Abby (Kristen Stewart) and Harper (Mackenzie Davis), who made plans to go home to the latter's family for the Christmas holidays. Aside from spending the yuletide season with Harper's conservative parents, Abby is also planning to spring a marriage proposal on Harper. Trouble begins, though, when she discovers that Harper hasn't come out as a lesbian yet to her family, leaving them clueless as to who Abby really is in her life. The typical Christmas movie, dripping with morality and self-righteousness, with no surprises... except a big one: the cast! What are they doing in there? At least it keeps in suspense all along, hoping to discover the gem from the script that must have made such actors decide to be part of this. So we wait for a good 100 minutes, but the Christmas miracle does not come.. At least, we can enjoy seeing great actors on screen: Kristen Stewart, Victor Garber, Alison Brie, Mary Steenburgen and Mary Holland who plays a touching Jane.
