What to Know

Critics Consensus

The animation is as eye-popping as ever, but Happy Feet Two's narrative is too noisily incoherent to recapture the Oscar-winning charm of its predecessor.

Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com But I liked how subtle Miller and company's handling of their Global Warming and Climate Change message was this time, how they don't hit the viewer over the head with their proselytizing. Rated: 3/4 Jan 27, 2012 Full Review Leonard Maltin indieWire While 'Happy Feet' focused on the tap-dancing Emperor Penguin named Mumble... this one spends more time with his little son Erik... who is simply irresistible. If one agrees that penguins in general are cute, Erik ups the ante considerably. Dec 2, 2011 Full Review Henry Barnes Guardian Preaches acceptance but requires assimilation. You dance or you die. Join the party, swim with the swarm. Rated: 2/5 Dec 1, 2011 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Will have you mumbling along with Mumbles, Gloria, and their new son Erik as you and your kids leave the theatre. Rated: 3.0/4.0 Sep 10, 2020 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News I was a fan of that original, but this one is pointless. The biggest problem is the story, if you want to call it that, which is flimsy at best. Rated: C- May 7, 2019 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X Happy Feet Two is the kind of movie that won't make you scream in pain while you're watching it, and that won't prompt you to remember much about it once it's over. Thu T Happy feet 2 was kinda mid. Not horrible, but not very good. The first movie was better. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/19/24 Full Review Petros T "Happy Feet Two" starts with an inexplicable retcon regarding Mumble and Gloria, and the former's parents are also mysteriously nowhere to be found. It is a little odd that the movie doesn't care enough to address these issues, however elsewhere it brings back the cuteness, positivity and great animation of the original and pairs them with a more focused, meat-and-potatoes premise and tighter script, which also includes a fun subplot starring two krill voiced by Matt Damon and a great Brad Pitt. Worth watching for the krill B-plot alone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/28/24 Full Review Read all reviews
