All Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) has ever wanted is to be a professional hockey player. But he soon discovers he may actually have a talent for playing an entirely different sport: golf. When his grandmother (Frances Bay) learns she is about to lose her home, Happy joins a golf tournament to try and win enough money to buy it for her. This is a mostly family-friendly comedy and has good humor and entertainment value! I don't normally watch Adam Sandler movies and this is actually one of the first ones I've seen in quite some time, but it's kind of hard for me to not like him after I saw this one. The comedic timing and more subtle acting from not only him, but all of the supporting actors were good with their performances. The movie had heart to it and while it got to be a little too silly and cringe at times, especially with some moments involving Carl Weathers's character, it mostly worked for me! I can see some people liking this better than some classic comedies, especially ones involving golf like Caddyshack!

Happy Gilmore has always been one of, if not, my favorite Adam Sandler movie. This still remains true. It is just simply a very hilarious adventure that never lets up on the fun and ridiculousness of the premise, while telling a comprehensible story that makes you root for Happy. Even if he absolutely isn’t the best person in the world. With fun little visuals, really great characters, and just an all-around feel-good movie.
