What to Know

Critics Consensus

Funnier and more gleefully gory than most slasher sequels, Hatchet II aims for so-bad-it's-good territory, but can't quite hack it.

Amy Nicholson Boxoffice Magazine Mosquitoes bite. Gators tear. But only Victor Crowley strangles a man with his own intestines until his head explodes. Rated: 4/5 Oct 5, 2010 Full Review Tom Long Detroit News This is basically an excuse to watch skulls crushed like melons, guts ripped from body cavities and torsos halved. And such things go on with relentless and disgusting regularity. Rated: D+ Oct 1, 2010 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Swift and amusingly brainless, Hatchet II more than delivers on splatter expectations. Rated: 4/5 Oct 1, 2010 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Only the most hardcore of gore fans are likely to be comfy with Hatchet 2. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 10, 2020 Full Review Nikki Baughan Roll Credits [Adam Green] has ensured that not only is Hatchet II a sequel that compliments the original, but it's a balls-to-the-wall bloody blast from start to finish. Rated: 4/5 Oct 23, 2019 Full Review Kevin A. Ranson MovieCrypt.com While some of the kills seem more over the top, it's clear that most of the cast is there simply to become victims, and there's plenty of fake blood and gobby bits to go around. John F Obvious that Evil Dead 2 was an inspiration, and while it comes up short of that horror/comedy classic Hatchet 2 does pretty well. Bad acting and cheesy lines abound, but there are a few decent moments, and the presence of Harris and Todd provides horror fans plenty to chew on, and it gives us an origin story and some inventive kills under 90 minutes. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/07/24 Full Review Ricardo d Embora o filme seja péssimo, é bom ver Tom Holland e Tony Todd atuando juntos. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/07/24 Full Review Courtney K hmm... i did not finish watching it, haha. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/01/23 Full Review Music S Creo que muchos efectos dejaron mucho que desear, historia regular, nada del otro mundo Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/21/22 Full Review Mateo L My rating for the film is a 4.4/10 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/05/22 Full Review Read all reviews
