Alan Ng Film Threat If you’re in the mood for tension, blood, and chaos, this indie thriller might be your next Halloween watch. Rated: 7.5/10 Jan 13, 2025 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed He Never Left attempts to do something different with the slasher genre and at times it works, but overall, the film ends up a bit forgettable which is unfortunate. There is talent here but it doesn’t seem to be used to the best of its potential. Dec 28, 2024 Full Review C.H. Newell Father Son Holy Gore Morris’s film really could’ve been a solid addition to the slasher canon had it been tighter and kept its focus in the right(/bloody) places. Rated: 2/5 Dec 8, 2024 Full Review Joey Keogh Wicked Horror [Colin] Cunningham, a jobbing actor for over 30 years, makes absolute mincemeat out of a role that in less capable hands would come off grating, even downright insufferable. Dec 6, 2024 Full Review Norman Gidney HorrorBuzz Writers James Morris, Michael Ballif, and Colin Cunningham have too much fun with the “whodunnit” aspects of the story to deliver a satisfying slasher and they don’t offer not character development to deliver a satisfying mystery. Not all is lost, though. Rated: 7/10 Nov 29, 2024 Full Review Romey Norton Film Focus Online Overall, He Never Left offers its audience a psychological thriller about a man in turmoil. The tension and dilemma are strong enough to captivate audiences for the one-hour and thirty-minute runtime. Rated: 2.5/5 Nov 15, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Eric J This was a very solid movie that pairs an obvious passion for the genre with proficiency in its execution, which is not always the case with Indie films. I found the story to be compelling alongside solid casting, good pacing, and I'm a sucker for accurate tactical scenes (which this film hits excellently). Definitely recommend, and not just during the Spooky Season. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/25 Full Review Zach T Movie couldn't quite figure out what it wanted to be. Colin Cunningham is incredible though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/06/25 Full Review Matt C As a horror movie connoisseur I found the movie to better than most horror movies I have seen. The pros were that the movie did not have a lot of plot holes. The movie was a little slow in some parts but it was able to keep my interest. I would recommend it to horror movie lovers. The main actor and director who played a key role in the movie seemed as though he had experience with the job in real life. The main female lead was excellent in the movie. Cons were that some of the actors were no better than a high school play. I am hopeful to seeing a sequel to the movie in the near future. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/02/25 Full Review Lindsy S This film brought back a classic slasher with a twist, setting itself apart from the genre. The psychological turmoil played out by the main character, Gabriel (Colin Cunningham), was executed brilliantly, which set the stage for a captivating thriller/slasher film. I really got a kick out of this film. If you are a fan of a time-honored horror, you will enjoy this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/30/24 Full Review Arthur G I enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. Satisfyingly creepy, scary, and it left me wanting more, which is always a good thing in my opinion. Well acted, and I enjoyed the film score, too, so much so that I bought a copy on CD. A vinyl release would not go unappreciated, FYI lol. Also, the lead actor was so convincing as a hardened con that when I went to look at other things he was in, I was surprised at how different he was! I've seen it several times since purchasing on iTunes, that's how much I like it. Going through other reviews here on Rotten Tomatoes, I'm surprised to see people saying they want more "character development." To me, that's one of those sayings that the public seems to latch onto after film critics say it, and they then repeat it endlessly. I like mystery when I read books or see movies, and I don't want to know every detail of character's lives etc. That's just me, I suppose. The story that is being told in the film is what matters to me, and once it's grabbed me with an interesting plot, like He Never Left has, I'm hooked. So, grab your bowl of popcorn, sit down and shut up, and get all your preplanned negative thoughts out of your heads and enjoy a good, creepy scary movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/10/25 Full Review KJ B Needed more redemption. Movie was good but the resolution left me unsatisfied. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Read all reviews
