Audience Member (****): A very interesting documentary. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member In every generation, a madam goes down in flames. In my generation it was the Manhattan Madam, Kristin Davis. Before that it was this woman, Heidi Fleiss. This is a pretty good doc going into the shady underbelly of the LA prostitution system in the 80s and early 90s. Now things are more careful thanks because of this scandal. But there's so many great interviews in this with genuinely scary people, all of them liars, backstabbers, and charmers. Basically, TRUST NO ONE! Be glad at least SOMEONE went to jail. Of course, Heidi is a rich celebrity again. So, I guess the system works. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely fascinating documentary with no holds barred. Filmmaker even gets on camera how he is paying cash for information from many sources, including former LAPD Chief Daryl F. Gates, who is one of the biggest A-holes to have ever been in that department! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Like all Nick Broomfield docs, this is a sprawling, naive mess of a film. It's also frequently amusing, relentlessly gung-ho and occasionally enlightening. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member "I bet a lot of people who came down on prostitution say, "I'd like to make $1,500 a night."--Heidi Fleiss' mom. Ah, the good old 90's... after watching half of VH1s SOBER HOUSE Season 2 (starring Heidi Fleiss, Tom Sizemore et al), I came across this movie & just couldnt resist. Such a fun romp thru the slippery slimy underbelly of sleazy Hollywood (that even the film looks dirty lol.) These ppl just smile at the camera with so much hatred in their eyes that even Heidi comes out looking like an innocent victim. You continually think to yourself what a load of BS these ppl just told the interviewer. So if you like smarmy flicks, this ones for you.
