In other words, it’s a moral tale -- or, in this case, an amoral one, since Galliano emerges from Macdonald’s film as being naively tone-deaf to society’s sensitivities. Yet, it’s also clear he inspires great affection in those who have worked with him.

An interesting insight into Galliano’s own personal perspective of what eventuated to fashion’s most famous career crash. From the Highs of being at the top of his game and leading the most respected luxury brand run by the the most powerful company in the industry, to falling rapidly into the Lows of ill events that lead him to lose himself and dwell into a toxic lifestyle that was so destructive it became headline international news, a court hearing and trauma for all involved. I’ve watched a ton of fashion documentaries about the demanding luxury career and this goes up there alongside Dior and I, Lagerfeld Cinfidential and McQuren and I, etc.

The worst thing a movie can do…is to leave you feeling indifferent…nothing for Galliano…for his fashion…or anyone involved… The one thing you can feel is that this director had no knowledge (or interest) of or in Fashion.

An incredibly modern and luxurious setting. The Q&A with the Director afterwards made for an exceptional experience. The documentary speaks to the truth of a lived experience and leaves the viewer with the space to contemplate the friction between two truths.
