Audience Member In my opinion, 2002 is the golden age of cinema, the movies around that time have a very niche and specific vibe to it, they were all very alternative and creative. Most people when they see the poster think about two other movies, Donnie Darko (2001), because of Jake Gyllenhaal, and Requiem for a dream (2000), because of Jared Leto, and no, if you watch Highway (2002) with these two other films in mind you will be extremely disappointed, it is definitely not a deep movie to learn something from, it is just a trashy comedy, I mean, not everything has to be meaningful, it’s okay to have fun sometimes, and that is the purpose of Highway (2002), it does not take itself seriously, it is supposed to be dumb and funny (and I think it does a good job on that, i had some nice laughs throughout the experience). It’s very different from other road flicks, the story is fresh, unpredictable and fun. All the actors did a really good job (Jake as “Pilot”, Jared as “Jack” a.k.a. God of fuck, and Selma Blair as Cassie). When you ignore those two star wars movies this is the best project James Cox worked on, genuinely, i think my only complaint is that Selma Blair has a boring role, she deserves more than “jack’s skank friend”. In conclusion, it’s really worth watching, especially at 2am with junk food on your lap. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/30/24 Full Review RED 0 Piven always comes through. Best seen in the movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Cade This is the best movie ever I probably hold the record for most times watching Highway. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review nico r if you couldn't afford cable or direct TV you rewatched DVDs. I couldn't even afford DVDs but my buddy had two things in her collection: the entire Law & Order anthology and this movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/24 Full Review Audience Member Absolute chaos but in a good way. Never boring, different from all the other completely clichéd movies. Just crazy, fun, silliness with personality and flare. A good watch none the less for those who can take the "unhinged" ones with stride & looking for something different Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Although I absolutely love Leto and Gyllenhaal's acting (not to mention good looks lol) I only got thru maybe 45 min of it and thought it was quite boring and didn't keep my interest Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
