Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See A violent, atmospheric neo-noir detective yarn. Rated: B Jul 14, 2020 Full Review Adam Lippe Examiner.com It's certainly odd to suddenly be distracted first by what looks like one character's glass eye, and then notice the waterfall behind him, and then recognize that he appears to be floating, but that's really just our imagination. Maybe. May 28, 2011 Full Review Nick Deigman Fan The Fire A meandering and meaningless pile of drivel that does a disservice to its many fine performances. Laurie S Josh Hairnet seemed to be caught up in a world he didn't understand and knew nothing about. I didn't understand half of what was going on it was so muddled. It's not a film I'd watch again. In fact, and this is a first in this country, I'm suing Tran Anh Hung for wasting nearly two hours of my life by feeding me this sh'ite. See you in court Hung. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/22 Full Review Audience Member Oddly captivating while never been brilliant. It contained plenty of drivel but did enough to keep you interested and wondering how it will climax. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Watching this movie was the equivalent of wanting to take a dump with the smallest asshole possible. As soon as I sat down, I just knew this wasn't going to go how I thought it was going to go. And as it went on it became harder and harder to get through as its scope narrowed from a thrilling film noir into a second rate pretentious art film. This is just lazy directing, all actors and actresses, save for Byung Hun Lee and Josh Hartnett was absolutely atrocious. I have seen many of the actors in other films and found them intriguing, charismatic and amazing, however the terrible directing backed by a pointlessly confusing plot and gratuitous artistic shots make this film almost unwatchable. Much of the film felt like an excuse for the director to attempt a shot he had stolen from that cam quality David Fincher film he pirated 5 years ago. 2/5 - Save for a few nice looking shots and an intriguing opening scene, this is a shameless attempt at an artistic youtube video. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A weird movie but I like weird so I enjoyed it. The director has a unique eye, I enjoyed the cast too. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member (***): An uneven but interesting film. Marginal thumbs up.
