Andrew Lowry Empire Magazine Bolt's golden era may be too recent and the sponsors too dominant for any real warts to be included, but his charm and sheer physical wonder make this a compelling watch regardless. Rated: 4/5 Dec 8, 2016 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) I Am Bolt teaches you nothing at all other than that he's a nice guy, and possibly the greatest track athlete of all time. Rated: 3/5 Nov 29, 2016 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian If Bolt's talent continues to defy all explanation, the Turner brothers bring us close enough to it to witness bugs swarming over nerveless knuckles on the start line. Rated: 3/5 Nov 24, 2016 Full Review Olly Richards NME (New Musical Express) A documentary that answers the question: what's it like to be the fastest human being who's ever lived? Rated: 4/5 Apr 29, 2021 Full Review Jason Gorber POV Magazine What saves the film from being a mere commercial for Bolt's global entourage to enjoy are the tiny moments of unguarded intimacy: the snap of a coach at his laziness, or the sight of Bolt wheeling about in an empty hotel room looking out of sorts. Aug 15, 2017 Full Review Renee Schonfeld Common Sense Media Winning docu celebrates world's fastest man; mild cursing. Rated: 4/5 Jan 3, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member An absolute character who's personality and sporting achievements will take many generations to equal, which this documentary tells well. I liked the emphasis on the grit and pain behind the flashes and smiles. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Usain Bolt is, at the time of writing this review, the fastest man on Earth. He holds the world record in the 100m race, running it in a swift 9.58 seconds. Bolt has also earned nine Olympic gold medals, although one was stripped because one of his 4x100m partners was caught using performance-enhancing drugs. From his first race in 2002, to his last in 2016, Bolt has caught the attention of people worldwide for his incredible performances. I Am Bolt gives the viewer insight into the life of Usain Bolt, and shows them that there is much more to him than running. Behind the name is a man - a person - who gets tired, angry, upset, happy, excited, just like everyone else. It gives insight into Bolt's personal life, showing that he enjoys much more than the track, such as riding ATVs, dancing, and listening to R. Kelly. The viewer is also shown parts of Bolt's intense training regimen, allowing them to see how hard he trains, and various important races where it paid off for him. Moviegoers also see Bolt's struggle with different injuries which set back his training for weeks at a time. Everything is tied together with interviews from Bolt's parents and coach, and famous athletes such as Serena Williams, as well as blog-style footage from Bolt himself. I would give the documentary a Rotten Tomato score of 90%, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys athlete documentaries or sports in general. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Usain Bolt is an incredible athlete but I thought this documentary a little long. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member As An Athlete, He Is Without Question, A Shining Light Upon The Sport Of Running & Elite-Level Sport..& All Without A Drug In His System. He Does It With A Genuine Love Of Running That Brings Respect, Charisma, He Throws It All Back For The World To Love & Enjoy. I Learned A Surprising Amount About Him That Wouldn't Be Otherwise Known, As He Is A Kind Of Secreative Character At Times, Cherishing A Private Life..As We All Do. The Soundtrack Is Spot-On & For The 100+min Run-Time It Doesn't Get Boring At All, Even Though You Know Of All The Races, There Is An Edge Of Unexpectedness Here. He's Such A Character In Sport & The World Was So Lucky To Have Him...Whatever Would We Have Done If He Hadn't Taken Up That Bet With His Sports Teacher To Score A Free Lunch??? Amazing Stuff. Just Really Meant To Be. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting but not too exciting as its more about his training schedule then the man himself Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting documentary about the phenomenon that is Usain Bolt. Good to see behind the scenes and witness how much he had to put in to achieve what he did, and see something more of the man behind the image. He comes across as a good guy and you can only respect him when you witness the dedication required to get to the top and stay at the top. Well worth a watch.
