Painfully tacky scenes but only continued watching for the pay off of the female character slaughtering all those douchebags. Didn't disappoint with how she executed with each scene, and quite happy with how it finished the film. No sequel needed. Overall, there's no fancy cinematics or over-the-top special effects - just kept it simple with the focus on the main character and the story, which was a good choice for that movie.

I only recommmend it if you have a certain point of view toward the subject of the movie. It got a lot of flak, was said to glorify violence against women. Though the violence against the main actress is incredibly excessive, it drives the point home in that her actions of retaliation against the men that did that to her is well-deserved.

I watched this and the 2010 remake. I prefer the remake. But you gotta give this one credit for coming up with the idea -- it's a pretty visceral premise for a slasher movie. And something I think this version did better than the remake is the kills are simpler and more believable.
