The life of British singer-songwriter and former Beatle John Lennon is the focus of this intimate 1988 documentary, pieced together from archival footage of the Beatles and 240 hours of home movies shot by Lennon and his widow, Yoko Ono. Featuring interviews with David Bowie, producer George Martin, and son Julian Lennon, it recounts the ups and downs of the performer's life and career, concentrating most on his post-Beatles period, and reveals the private man behind the public persona.

Yakking With F my dad saw this in the cinemas like 5 times in 1988 in toronto Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Dinos K Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion, too Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/24 Full Review Paul K I watch this every Dec 8th. This year won't be different. I made it to Strawberry Fields in Central Park only once. Back on Dec 8th 1995. Was quite a moving experience. Few guys with guitars playing Lennon/Beatles music. Watching this movie is a must for any Beatles - Lennon fan. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/21 Full Review Audience Member A perfect portrait of a man whose mind changed the world... Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting doc. The Beatles were a fascinating story so that part of it is great. The post-Beatles years are still good but not quite as interesting for me. There are some insights into the relationship with Yoko and his sons. There was also some unpleasantness in the form of a nasty song about Paul and some bickery stuff with the media. I'll say 7 out of 10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The most interesting was the Beetle Years. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
