I enjoyed this film - the quirky animation type scenes and the live action ones with the young boy and his father Victor, trying to shield his son, Ingmar, from the harsh realities of their near poverty based situation.
The animation based scenes, certainly the ones early on, reminded me of Wallace and Gromit, with people on the moon and appliances used to get there - very quirky stuff but its quite endearing. The film is mostly about parental love, more specifically of course father and son love. Its sad to see how Victor seemingly relies on inventing circumstances to try and blot out the realities but I felt I really bought in to the love between father and son. Its certainly a film about escapism and about hopes and dreams I suppose.
It really appealed to me and I'm happy to recommend it to other fans of world cinema
