Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) Scott Thomas rules the roost if we're looking at inner burn, at the fury that always seems to be snacking on her marrow. Rated: 3/5 Aug 15, 2012 Full Review David Hughes Empire Magazine A short but insightful exploration of inverse Stockholm syndrome, loneliness and loss. Rated: 4/5 Aug 15, 2012 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian In Your Hands showcases of one of this country's most remarkable screen performers, a vividly intelligent presence - but it does not quite work. Rated: 2/5 Aug 15, 2012 Full Review Daniel Green CineVue In Your Hands shows signs of a directorial talent struggling with mundane, mediocre subject matter -- with luck, [director Lola Doillon's] next outing will be more impactful. Rated: 2/5 Jan 30, 2019 Full Review Allan Hunter Daily Express (UK) Scott Thomas and Marmai are both fine in a film that could almost be a theatrical two-hander but the plot just doesn't hold water. Rated: 2/5 Aug 15, 2012 Full Review Philip French Observer (UK) The end is abrupt and not entirely satisfactory, but it's a convincingly performed and constantly intriguing film. Audience Member Told through a flashback, a very particular that only french can perform, this great film tells us alot about human deffects and about its psique. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member a true masterpiece done by Kristin Scott Thomas and Pio Marmaï Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Told through a flashback, a very particular that only french can perform, this great film tells us alot about human deffects and about its psique. Great performances, good story and script. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Really not sure why the professional reviewers are not liking this one. I thought it was a fair attempt with some solid acting from the 2 leads. I would recommend it if you have a spare hour and a half. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This starts so well. We've seen kidnapping cellar thrillers before; yes we have; but this is unpredictable. It's without the usual audience shiver tricks. I female doctor is napped by the husband of a dead patient. He doesn't really want revenge. He just wants to make things even. He doesn't hate the doctor. This man wants balance. It ends with a draw, the doctor escapes and slowly takes command. She wants things to be even, she wants balance and starts an affair with the kidnapper. It sounds a little silly, most of all because it's so obvious what the film wants to say. There is no real balance until the doctor has gone all the way and put the police on her lover/kidnapper. OK, many of us have empty lives and seek desperately to get at last a draw. For a couple of days anyway. But this film can't even say what's right or wrong about this. You don't always need morals in a movie, but you should be able to tell whether that's the director's aim or not. Even if it's easy to tell the score so to say. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
