Master art forger Harry Donovan (Jason Patric) accepts a commission to paint a fake Rembrandt that could end up being worth a small fortune. While working on the painting, he romances art student Marieke (Irène Jacob), who later reveals herself to be a Rembrandt expert employed by the men who hired Harry to make the forgery. Marieke believes that the painting won't pass for a genuine Rembrandt, and Harry's employers are rather displeased with his failure, forcing him to flee for his life.

Good story. Good acting. Hero goes on James Bondish on-the-run with a woman (of whom we have a lot of questions) in fast-paced believable escape from the law. Hero says he's innocent, but we saw him kill a guy. What?? Good ending, too.

Pour son dernier film sorti en salles à ce jour, John Badham continue dans sa descente qualitative et livre un thriller qui n'a sa place qu'à minuit sur M6. Ce n'est pas tant qu'Incognito soit un mauvais film, loin de là. C'est plutôt qu'Incognito est un suspense sans passion, un thriller sans aucune surprise ni réel talent devant et derrière la caméra. John Badham réalise le film sans faire de vagues, parvenant à garder un rythme acceptable d'un script qui n'a aucun intérêt, tandis que les acteurs cachetonnent tous. Jason Patric n'est jamais réellement sympathique, Rod Steiger en fait des tonnes, Irène Jacob n'a rien à jouer et le reste des personnages est si uni-dimensionnel qu'on ne peut réellement se prendre à cette histoire de faussaire d'oeuvre d'art. Préférez Big Eyes.

Art and science meet in this entertaining forgery caper with a romantic twist as a master forger goes beyond his usual caution to go for big cash by taking a job to forge a lost Rembrandt paint so it can be "found". If your a fan of John Badham' technology gone evil movies, such as WarGames and Blue Thunder, you'll be interested in the directors take on a romantic crime caper supported by a good cast and some great detail for the theft.

the film itself is not very good but, but the parts about painting save it 100% the way Harry does the researching the way he paints it is a good movie if you really love painting
