Audience Member Invisible Temptation (1996) - I've been following the Brad Rowe thread and ran into this film about a reasonably normal high school senior, brought up by religiously paranoiac (but loving) grandparents, goes looking for a little weed, messes up, and gets drug down into devil worship. This film has this grainy, washed-out, home video quality to it, which helped make the story even creepier, like I was there, watching the whole thing from around the corner, worried that I might be discovered and also be subjected to the psychological terrorism. The mix of folk, spiritual, and eerie soundtracks is in such stark contrast to each other as to be nearly maddening, which gave me the impression that it was done on purpose. The acting is reasonably believable (hell, I don't know how devil worshipers behave) and the movie rolls along in total unpredictability until, in a scene of incredible corniness, the journey ends. Ah. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
