Catherine Bray Guardian It Feeds is light on gore but heavy on the dark spooky wraith guy with thin, sinister fingers. It may not stick around in your memory with the persistence demonstrated by the entity towards its victims, but it passes the time chillingly enough. Rated: 3/5 May 5, 2025 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com “It Feeds” ultimately looks like a handsome genre exercise that was confidently realized with clarity and exactitude. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Emiliano Basile EscribiendoCine It Feeds unfolds as a clever offering that, without intending to surprise, successfully navigates the narrative conventions of the horror genre. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 6/10 Jun 30, 2025 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Me gusta el cine "It Feeds" is a pleasant surprise. It clearly can't compare to the big Hollywood productions, but if you're willing to watch it with an open mind, I'm sure you'll find a lot of value in its proposal. [Full review in Spanish]. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 29, 2025 Full Review Ian Bunting Daily Record (UK) It Feeds won’t win any points for originality, however, Archibald’s latest horror dishes out just enough scares, meaningful motivations and stirring shots to satisfy genre fans’ taste buds. TheMovieSearch R I headed into It Feeds, the 2025 supernatural horror, with high hopes. Ashley Greene was cast as Cynthia Winstone, a psychiatrist with extra—if somewhat terrifying—abilities, and that setup sounded promising. The film opens strong: a young girl arrives claiming a malevolent entity is feeding on her, visible both inside and outside her body. Greene’s character resists getting involved, sensing something deeply wrong, and for the first act I was all in: intrigued by the concept, invested in the characters, and excited to see where this dark road would lead. The cast is solid. Greene carries her portion well, giving believable weight to a character who is as wary as she is determined. Ellie O’Brien, Shawn Ashmore, and the rest deliver performances that help keep things grounded when the supernatural stuff gets wild. There’s some good banter and relationship tension, which adds texture. The direction, particularly early on, builds atmosphere nicely: it sets up the mystery, gives you enough visuals and scares to pulse the fear, and teases something deeper. But (and yes, there’s a “but”) the film starts to lose its grip as it progresses. After the young girl is removed from the central scenes—spoiler light, but that turning point was where tension shifted—the momentum drops. All the emotional high points are used early; the rest of the film feels like a slow descent rather than building toward another peak. I was invested early, but by the middle I felt the stakes flatten. Scenes that should scare become confusing; the supernatural elements get messier, and not in a stylish way, more in a “What is going on?” way. What bothered me most was the shift in tone. It goes from terrifying and eerie to almost absurd at times. Instead of sustenance in tension, some horror clichés take over—the relentless jump-scares, weird monster logic—and it doesn’t always pay off. The creature design is decent, and there are moments that still grip you, but the emotional connection that held me in the first act doesn’t quite survive the second. So here’s my verdict: It Feeds is mixed. It’s got strong bones—good concept, good cast, and moments of real tension and horror. But by the climax, it feels like it squandered some of its promise. If you go in hoping for something fresh in the horror genre, you’ll find parts you like. But if you’re looking for a fully satisfying arc—something that holds together from start to finish—you might come away disappointed. Final Thoughts: It Feeds is worth a watch if you’re drawn to supernatural horror and strong initial buildup. But don’t expect it to stay at that first high. For me, it was a ride that started thrilling and ended hollow. Perhaps with a tighter script or reined-in tone in the second half, it could have been something more. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/22/25 Full Review Laurian D It starts off strong but loses its grip in the second half. Characters make silly choices and the final act leaves a bit to be desired. Ashley Greene makes it worth a watch though, a very talented and likeable actress. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/25 Full Review Metehan Ç Especially second half of the film is so bad and might be think that is that same movie? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/15/25 Full Review Leonardo J If you take into consideration that it is a low budget movie with unknown actors, it’s a very good movie. I liked it. 👍🏻 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review Erin G Clever original script, which is my main rating factor nowadays. Think stranger things meets IT with a side of Inception.
