Neil Jillett The Age (Australia) Eleanor Bergstein's script is composed of equal parts of hot air, warm treacle and the discarded slogans of pop psychology. Claudia Weill directs with a matching lack of grace or energy. Dec 29, 2021 Full Review Gary Arnold Washington Post "It's My Turn" promises to inspire a higher percentage of blank stares, stifled yawns and "so whats" than any other recent fiasco. May 10, 2017 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times It's My Turn is one of those movies where you can almost keep a mental list of the Important Topics as they're ticked off in the dialogue. steve d Passable but nothing special. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Julia M This film should have been far, far better. It was directed by Claudia Weill, whose 1978 "Girlfriends" has stood the test of time as a moving exploration of female friendship and ambition. And the cast is superb, with none other than Jill Clayburgh, one of the greatest actresses of the late 20th century, in the lead role. So what goes wrong? A preposterous plot, dialogue that ranges from stilted to cretinous, and a grating, sappy theme song. Worth watching if you are a Jill Clayburgh fan or interested in what movie studio heads thought "feminism" meant back in 1980. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/01/21 Full Review Audience Member An average film with above average performances from Clayburgh and Douglas. This movie shouldn't work, but it somehow manages to be engaging. Worth a look. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty good, but predictable romantic comedy. The cast is a big plus, especially Charles Grodin. Professionally made. Good support from Beverly Garland. Enjoyable, good script. For being 27 years old it has held up very well over time.
