Critics Consensus

Despite having a cast and crew of comedy all-stars on hand, Jackpot! provides little payout thanks to a puerile script and erratic pacing.

Elizabeth Weitzman TheWrap Feig's primary influences seem to be "Idiocracy," "The Purge," and Looney Tunes--and he is undoubtedly correct in assuming that this unholy mix will hit some people’s sweet spot. Sep 27, 2024 Full Review Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) An action-comedy that lacks intoxicating fight scenes and genuine punchlines, this feature is less than the sum of its parts even as it turns Los Angeles’ make-or-break culture into a dystopian murder game. Rated: 2/5 Aug 23, 2024 Full Review Andrea Thompson Chicago Reader Another familiar dystopia wrings laughs thanks to a stellar cast. Aug 22, 2024 Full Review Samantha Schuster Cinéfilo Serial It may not be Paul Feige's best film, but it manages to entertain us thanks to the charismatic and chemistry-driven duo of Awkwafina and John Cena. And to a greater or lesser extent, the frenetic pace and the string of jokes work. Norman B. The movie isn't bad, but I guess a lot of people are taking it serious, which is a no-no for comedy Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/25 Full Review Ryan M. I feel sorry for all the crew who had to work on this movie. I know they got paid, but this was the outcome… yikes Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/25/25 Full Review Michael P From a technical stand point, this is played more as a B-movie with a lot of over the top action and normal people doing things that they just wouldn't do. The editing was a little choppy, at times covering some action that was a little much. The acting was pretty damn good from the main 3 but the rest felt like they were in a different movie to the rest. There was some iffy CGI and some of the dialogue was cringy but most of it was pretty good and a good portion of the jokes did at least get a smile but no real belly laugh moments. I will say, this movie doesn't take that long to get into it but the end had a fast and the furious moment where 2 minutes took about 5 minutes of screen time Considering I just watched the Running Man (2025) for the first time, it's hard not to see the similarities but they story itself was pretty good. The beginning was a little unnecessary and I already gave my thoughts on the ending. I wish the main bad guy was not so obvious. There was some also very poor decision making to serve the story. More we need to get the character to a certain point so let's just make stuff up instead of saying the character makes a certain decision and therefore she ends up in this place. My experience was good but it's a throw away movie I had some fun in but not enough to make me consider coming back and not enough for me to recommend. There are better options out there Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/17/25 Full Review Diana M This was really fun and funny! A great action movie with a great cast! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/06/25 Full Review Berenisse S So funny! My husband and I loved it going on our favorite list. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/07/25 Full Review bob t i don't get the hate... very funny and entertaining movie with some great action and very fast pacing.
