Knut S A very good, typicaly non Hollywood production. I liked it because of the weird dialoges and the good acting of an aging JCVD. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A very interesting if not perfectly realized film, "JCVD" delightfully basks in the sunlight of its meta premise like there's no tomorrow. The photography didn't click with me and now and then it felt like the movie was trying to eulogize JCVD, but I enjoyed the humour, the self-referential aspects and the way the story was presented. Yet stealing the show is JCVD himself, who has doubtlessly grown a lot as an actor since his action hero heyday and hereby delivers a career-defining performance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review r 9 Pretty good! I wouldn't class 'JCVD' as anything above that, though it is a film worth watching. I really like the way the story is portrayed, while it's interesting to have JCVD play JCVD. It's not as entertaining as it perhaps could've been, though it merits props for how it's put together and how it comes out - which is positively Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Inconsistencies (especially in story & tone) abound. Cinematography is clumsy, claustrophobic, & ugly. However, contains Van Damme’s arguably best performance, capped off by a powerful monologue recorded in a six minute unbroken take. #nitrosMovieChallenge Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/22 Full Review nefasto r Strong beginning and strong ending, but drugs a bit in the middle. Still, definitely the best movie JCVD ever made and ever will. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I think that Van Damme can act I love this movie it is rare these days to see incredible real martal art actors . There are great ones today but rare although this movie is a nice portrayed by Jean Claude Van Dame. Have more closed sets so he can create his craft I may have gone of topic of the movie but he is great. Make more movies like this . Grady Hendrix Slate Think of it as Sunset Bloodsport with Jean-Claude as Norma Desmond. Jun 10, 2013 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg Time Out Rated: 2/5 Nov 17, 2011 Full Review Jennie Punter Globe and Mail Rated: 4/4 Sep 14, 2010 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review It presents a human being, stripped of his celebrity’s arrogance and self-importance, revealing a broken man teeming with pathos and heartfelt regret. It’s a staggeringly good performance. Rated: 3.5/4 Mar 3, 2024 Full Review Justin Brown Medium Popcorn This was boring, slow, and ultimately inconsequential. Rated: 1/5 Jan 24, 2024 Full Review Brandon Collins Medium Popcorn This was painfully boring and despite showing a different side of JCVD, there just wasn't enough meat on the bones of this story...
