Audience Member Unusual comedian, reminds me of Dave Chappele - discusses hot-button issues without shrillness Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I like his style. seems genuine. I don't agree with some of his values and I think neither does he. it is a show afterall. but the way he puts it not only give you a laugh, he makes you sympathize with his some what twisted justification which i think is comedy gold. Jesse David Fox New York Magazine/Vulture The most fully realized, singular expression of comedic point of view of the year. Aug 1, 2019 Full Review Andrew Husband Forbes The 30 year-old-delivers his particular brand of edgy, Richard Pryor-esque commentary on the ins and outs of being a young Black man in modern America, but with an artful touch. Aug 1, 2019 Full Review Garrett Martin Paste Magazine What links all of this together is Carmichael's patient delivery -- he speaks softly, slowly, drawing the audience into a conversation that's consistently funny without having much in the way of jokes. Aug 1, 2019 Full Review Eddie Strait The Daily Dot 8 is an amusing hour of standup with occasional moments of transcendence. There are a lot of laughs to be had, but not enough philosophy that lingers with you after the credits roll. Aug 1, 2019 Full Review Sean L. McCarthy Decider Onstage by himself in a comedy club or a theater, Carmichael raises the questions without easy answers or sometimes any answers. Instead, he forces you to confront your own philosophy. Dec 20, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
