Megan Basham WORLD Though the end-times ending borders on camp, it also acts as a nice cliffhanger set-up for a sequel. Oct 12, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member As if taking a page of the worst of M Night's worst habits, Jerusalem Countdown starts off with an interesting mystery, and box art that is entirely devoid of any indication that what you are watching is a propaganda piece, but a propaganda piece it is. It starts off with a mystery as to why a ton of people suddenly disappeared, and in traditional "OOH! WHAT A TWIST!" fashion, the explanation is one that the audience wouldn't guess simply because the twist itself is so stupid that anyone watching would have discarded it immediately. But it's......the Rapture.. And this is a shame, as the opening couple of scenes, while incorporating some cheap and poorly-done VFX shots, is actually well done in regards to escalating a sense of tension from the get-go. It starts right when the mystery has fully manifested itself, and this is something I greatly appreciate. However, the story completely betrays this good-will by trying to turn it into some kind of quasi-conspiracy story all for the sake of red-herrings. Like, at the very beginning, there's a mystery voice on the radio, in the cliché "You don't need to know my name, but if you want to know what's happening you will listen to me!" variety, which, once you realize what actually happened, is COMPLETELY MEANINGLESS. In many ways, this movie would've worked better as a straightforward "Gotcha!" movie with a 15-20 minute long runtime, with murky clues all leading to the same conclusion of something supernatural, but this movie can't even bother to do that despite its Feature Length runtime! It's lazy, trite and genuinely dishonest by throwing in such a moronic big twist. If this were a clearly spiritual movie, it might not have been good, but at least I would've appreciated it for its honesty - instead this is like when an old friend of you invites you to drinks, and then they suddenly start piling on a sales pitch that you weren't prepared for, and weren't interested in. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member There was some entertaining parts especially with the government concerned about biblical prophecies coming true and the ending was good but overall I believe could have been told better. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member There is nothing; this is a nothing movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this movie! Finally, there are good Christian movie options. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Cheesy acting by main character, David A.R. White, but still worth watching. Has a few known actors but they all have minor parts unfortunately. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I liked the trailer. Not so much the actual movie.
