David L Silly, joyful, tongue-in-chek...I saw it 40 years ago and rollicked with my three kids Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review Rob A You may consider it a little dated now, but my entire family loved it and can still quote it to this day. "Knock down that wall, knock down that wall, and knock down THAT FARGIN' WALL!" "Now I'm REALLY angry!!" Or "You shouldn't hang me on a hook Johnny, me father hung me on a hook - ONCE!" Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/17/23 Full Review Kenneth P I saw JD as a kid and I still love it today Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review Serge C A little long but Keaton entertains, decently done gangster spoof, 30s era looked great, solid cast. 🍿🍿1/2 Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/23 Full Review Steve D The tone didn't work for me at all. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review Marc Z This is fun comedic movie. Michael Keaton is actually a very good dramatic actor; however, he was a decent comedic actor before he was a serious one. This movie showcases his comedic talents. It is a 1920's-30's NY Gangster comedy surrounding the rise of a NYC mobster played by Keaton. Peter Boyle, Marilu Henner, Danny DeVito, Dom DeLuise, and Joe Piscipo are all very good in this. Richard Dimitri, and every scene featuring him, is hysterical. The film has the feel and seems inspired by the work of Mel Brooks and Car Reiner. It is likable, and funny. The site and word gags hold up. The Direction by Amy Heckerling is good. The costumes and cinematography are fun to watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Paul Attanasio Washington Post The great shame is that this mess belongs to director Amy Heckerling, whose gentle touch made "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" so much more than a teen sex comedy.
