Audience Member Well, in my opinion, this was not very good I did Watch all of it though. James Welch, Henderson Arkansas May 24, 2023 Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Audience Member 130511: Quite a good film. The last 20 minutes is nothing but gunfight action and violence, some of it unexpected. Though Johnny Yuma is the hero, he gets really close to villainy at times. His wrath is felt Samantha and Thomas Felton, one of who fares better than the other, though neither fares well thanks to LJ Carradine. Unique conclusion. On a side note, what's with the pistol that shoots from the detachable holster? Along with that classic music and sound effects, it seems gimmicks always play a part in spaghetti's. This is one of the better ones I've seen as of late. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Western gunman fights for his Uncle's inheritance against his widow, who arranged his Uncle's killing. Rosalbal Neri shows well as the conniving aunt with aspirations of inheriting the fortune. Too bad Johnny Cash's song "Johnny Yuma" was not included. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Like most spaghetti westerns you learn revenge is never easy. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Johnny Yuma (Mark Damon) is a happy-go-lucky gunslinger and womanizer who is supposed to inherit his uncle's ranch, until said uncle is murdered by his scheming wife (the gorgeous Rosalba Neri) and her brother. Setting out for revenge, Johnny runs across another gunslinger, the classy Lawrence Jerome Carradine (Lawrence Dobkin), a bounty hunter with a close history to to the duplicitous widow. The plot follows standard Spaghetti Western protocols, but it does them well, with strong characters and performances. The visuals are also quite nicely done with a few neat camera tricks, such as when the camera shifts into first person during a tavern brawl. Interestingly, while the movie is usually lighter in tone than other Italo-Westerns, it isn't afraid to take a few swerves into some pretty dark territory by the end. It's a well-shot, well-acted Western and pleasantly surprising. Recommended. Not among the very best, the tonal shift from comedy to (surprisingly graphic) violence can be awkward at times, but fans of the genre will appreciate it.
