Ever the iconoclast, European princess Ann (Jo Morrow) chooses New York City over Paris to shop for her coronation attire. Despite the watchful eye of her prudish Aunt Margaret (Frieda Inescort), Ann sneaks away to hear some rock music and meets hunky singer Riff Manton (Jack Jones). Over the course of a few nights, Riff introduces her to the city's hot spots while simultaneously scheming to sell her on his friend's (Hans Conried) clothing designs and persuade her to bankroll a Broadway show.
