Mitchell S Excellent 90s movie! Tim Allen ftw. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Josh I enjoyed the humor and the story line wasn't flat.. it's a classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/20/23 Full Review Stephen C LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Jay P The critics had a worse childhood than I did. This movie is awesome. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/27/22 Full Review Audience Member Starring Tim Allen as a New York City stock broker who finds out he has a 13 year old son who had been living with his separated spouse in tribal Venezuela. This movie has an interesting premise of, basically, two fish out of water stories. But the execution didn't seem to work well. Tim Allen and Martin Short are both really funny men, but the writing for them in this movie didn't allow them to shine and I feel they just used their names to sell movie tickets. I honestly think this movie would have worked better if it was written as a drama and explored the cultural differences of father and son in a real fashion instead of comedic. For a good portion of the first two acts I wanted to turn the movie off to avoid the awkward comedic scenes, but I pushed through! There were a few scenes that got a laugh out of me, but not enough to really recommend this movie to anyone.
