Audience Member Impersonators aren't that good or interesting. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Mike A I liked it overall. But to be honest I would fast forward through lookalikes that didn't look really look like the celebrities they were impersonating like the Obama guy etc. I also skipped through all the KISS sequences because those guys were just wearing makeup and even with the makeup they didn't really look like the band. I thought Hugh Hephner, Bush, and Stevie Knicks were the most realistic. I would have liked to have seen more of the Oprah woman too. It would have been nice if they explained what they were doing for a living before they started doing this as a business, and also talk about how often they get work as lookalikes. Anyway, a somewhat interesting diversion if you've got some time to kill and can't figure out what to watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/09/15 Full Review Audience Member Just About Famous is a documentary about the lives of Celebrity Impersonators, including impersonators of: Lady Gaga, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Elvis, KISS, Bill Clinton, Madonna, Hugh Hefner, among many others. It details a major convention where they gather and shows many of their lives and different ways they use their likenesses and talent to benefit their lives and the lives around them. Things I Liked: The Different Characters. It was really interesting to see the individual stories and how they all came to become impersonators. Some perform for a living, others use them to help further their other careers, and some just do it for the fun. It was all very interesting. Things I Didn't Like: The Stories. There were too many stories to keep track of. Some were super cool but most of them just felt like too much. They were many that you were like "Ugh another one!? We're halfway through this thing and I'm already having a hard time keep track of them all!" It got muddled and made it hard to keep interested when the "cast" was so large and hard to keep up with. Overall: Overall, the documentary is both interesting at times and boring at times. A number of the characters are interesting and it is cool to see how they use being a celebrity impersonator to benefit and enrich their lives, but many other times it feel like one more story that you have to follow in a sea of many and it's too much. The documentary could have been something really unique and interesting and instead it just becomes something mediocre and forgettable.
