Audience Member These people talk too much. I'm not a big fan of Ceylan's more mature and lauded work, but thought I'd take a chance on this anyway. This one is amateurish, which is not how I'd describe his later stuff. One thing it does have going for it is that It betrays a real love for photography, but even that is hit and miss. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Vusal I A film which shows us how great and skillful Nuri Bilge Ceylan is. This movie is the feature film debut of NBC. That's a delightful piece of filmmaking. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/20 Full Review Audience Member Ceylan's debute and since I'm a big fan of his other works I had to give it a go. It's about a small town. There are kids in a school, but we never really bond with any characters. Later on there's a trip to the tivoli and then we are where most of the film is sat. Around a camp fire where young and elder are chatting. I never feel attached to anyone and the dialogue is so flat that I never care much. The looks of it is good - you can tell that the director got eyes for great film shooting, but we get rather few moments of greatness here. To be honest I was probably too unfocused to give this film a fair rating, but if they movie had been more interesting I would have felt more invited. It's a good thing that his other films are better, since this one was a huge disappointment. 4 out of 10 turtles. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Early Ceylan film that unfolds a little like a Chekhov short story - Satyajit Ray and Tarkovsky may be the touchstones here and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that in my book. Beautifully shot and acted this is a haunting work that feels like it could have been made a hundred years ago but is still somehow contemporary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member First paragraph will be English and second will be Turkish. Second long of the Nuri Bilge Ceylan.Beginning was looking like made by a master director.Actually i think he is a master of art direction.First school parts were amazing.I think pain and happiness was mixed there. You cant decide the feelings of students. Are they happy or pretending like happy?Director reflect this feeling perfectly. But i didnt liked the parts after the school part as the school part. The scenes after the school part was good too.But it wasnt powerful as school parts.Anyway you must watch it if you are a Nuri Ceylan fan?If you arent a Ceylan fan watch it if you are cinemalover. Sonlar? cok duygusuz oldugu icin sadece baslarda bunu hissettim.Ozellikle okul k?s?mlar?nda."Neden bahsedion" diye sorarsan?z...izleyin gorün. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member it's good about fotographic displays but you need much patience while watching.
