Audience Member Kind of corny, but still worth it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't really like this movie but I love the parts when James Spader was in. He was funny in this movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie full of scumbag characters with fake southern accents. You'd think the combo of Stoltz,Spader and Rooker would be a winning team but instead its kinda meh.The saving grace was the fact that the story was somewhat interesting and you get to see Debra Unger half naked more than a few times in this, which is always a treat for straight red blooded males. A decent watch but don't expect cinema gold with this cast. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie full of scumbag characters with fake southern accents. James Spader saves it from being totally shite. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member While sometimes interesting, the movie was mostly pretty dull with little going on. Plus, for a 1996 film, this seemed a lot more dated than it should be. James Spader was terrific as usual though. Plus, what was the relevance of the opening scene with Cameron Diaz?! Ryan Gilbey Independent (UK) This nonsensical picture appears to have been directed by a coma victim and edited by an axe maniac. Pyeton's script from Berkey's novel is deft, but Leslie Grief's awkward direction lacks modulation and visual style, and he doesn't even get decent performances from Stolz and Cameron Diaz.
