Test T This film started off as "Milk and Honey" before it was renamed "King of Crime". It's british made with the look of a TV movie rather than anything you might see in the cinema. The cast are quite decent, and many of them are celebrities you may recognise from the TV soaps. The film is extremely violent from the off, and definitely earns its 18 rating. The main problem is that the story is very disjointed. There's a lot going on in many different threads which get very tangled by the end. It was clearly shot on a tight budget, so you will need to lower your expectations, but if you can stomach the gore and you can forgive the rather un-special effects it provides a nostalgic diversion for a rainy afternoon at home. Leslie Felperin Guardian Film school teachers could use it to demonstrate what not to do, starting with screenwriter Linda Dunscombe's atrocious screenplay. Rated: 1/5 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Sarah Cartland Caution Spoilers After a rather bouncy initial 30 minutes, the film does the opposite of run out of steam, and goes completely bonkers. The plots and plots-within-plots become ever more convoluted, the violence more brutal but without motivation, the dialogue sillier. Rated: 1.5/5 Jan 21, 2019 Full Review David Parkinson Radio Times Gambell directs steadily, but this is on a par with similar low-budget projects by the likes of Vicky Jewson and Tristan Loraine.
