Pure sleazy Mexican cheese. Low budget trash - but oh, so fun and entertaining. Not a good film, by the least stretch, but it is a hoot to watch.

This movie has EVERYTHING. Female wrestling. Gorillas. Open-heart surgery. A crappy-looking monster. Gratuitous nudity. Ridiculously fake gore. Bad dubbing. Retarded dialogue. Atrocious editing. In other words, all the makings of a masterpiece.

Probably one of the funniest things i've seen in ages... thing is, it isn't meant to be. The effects, acting, dialogue and scenarios are ridiculously terrible. Only watch if you enjoy 'so bad its good' movies. Rated as a horror, not a comedy.

Well you can certainly chalk Night of the Bloody Apes up as a bloody good time but a very poor movie. It's famous the most for being declared a "video nasty" in the United Kingdom in the early 1980's, but the movie itself is a lot of fun. This is the kind of movie you wanna watch and make fun of while you're watching it because you're going to get the most enjoyment out of it that way. I recommend watching it with a friend for that reason alone. The story and its characters are mostly laughable and the women are present merely for eye candy, as almost every one of them bare some skin at some point or another. The gore isn't all that impressive, however there are a couple of scenes that use footage from open heart surgeries that are pretty graphic. I see that kind of stuff on The Discovery Channel all the time so it's no big deal to me. The one question that I did walk away from while watching this movie was: what's with the movie's color palette? This film has strong reds and greens, and they appear in nearly every single scene side-by-side. My only possible guess is that because the movie was made in Mexico that the filmmakers tried to subtly weave in the colors of the Mexican flag. It's not so far-fetched because American filmmakers, especially those in animation, do this kind of thing with the colors of the American flag all the time. Of course this is only a guess on my part, but it's so apparent to me that it just HAD to be intentional on the filmmaker's parts. Regardless of that little sidetracking, the movie is a hoot and worth your time if you're looking for something that's so bad that it's good because it's definitely that, and nothing else.
