Steve D They should have given Barbara Stanwyck all the awards. HOW was this not even nominated? Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/30/23 Full Review brad h A disappointment from Frank Capra. Barbara Stanwyck is very good and the daring (for its time) subject matter is interesting. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member a rare not so good Capra's movie Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member An extremely young Barbara Stanwyck plays a party girl who tricks her way into getting hired as an artist's model for a wealthy young man. Inevitably, they fall in love, but the father disapproves of his son's daliance with a woman of questionable virtue. Stanwyck is really magnificent, Ralph Graves not so much. His character is supposed to be gruff, but with a softer side that Stanwyck sees and falls for. The softer side really doesn't come across, and he ends up just seeming like a royal asshole. It compromises the film somewhat in that it's extremely difficult to see what she could be seeing in this guy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member capra stanwyck pairing #1 pre-code talkie Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Great plot, and the two leads are magnificent but has some very slow and clunky parts and the supporting cast is less than superb. Other than that a pretty decent early Capra and has the spark of better things to come. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
