Beverly A Depressing. The movie goes nowhere fast. Do not waste your time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Thinly-disguised pedophilia. This film want to be a subtle and provocative explorations into the boundaries of appropriateness and intimacy between a grown man and an adolescent girl who meet as strangers, but it simply comes off as creepy. The reviewers that give it such kudos all seem to be men, as if they are validating some obscured part of their own desire. And what is it with this fascination of male Hollywood with adolescent girls and grown men-- The Professional, Hannah, etc.? More a commentary on patriarchal romanticism than on meaningful relationship. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A touching story, great cinema Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Really good but really sad! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member A beautiful low budget film that was either poorly promoted as it never got the credit it deserved. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Low key affair, although that doesn't stop Lamb from being a sometimes harrowing study of a disillusioned clergyman, and the troubled boy he bids to ressurect from the iron fist of a Catholic remand centre. Something of a rarity, it's an unusally gritty for its time attack on Catholic double standards, showing how all lives, not just those of whom are seemingly in control, can be shattered by hierarchical dominance and hegemony.
