10/31/2024 Hard to believe it’s been 75 years since this cartoon aired Loved having this on vhs growing up Took me forever to realize it was based on a book The late Bing Crosby sings and narrates this adaptation of the same story by Washington Irving in the 1700s focusing on a man named Icabod Crane whom has come to Sleepy Hollow as the new schoolteacher and tries to win Katrina’s heart What Icabod doesn’t know though is the legend of the Headless Horseman during a party, they say if he chases you you can’t escape and one throw from his pumpkin head you’re dead Is the legend true or just a ghost story? It’s funny the Halloween portion doesn’t happen until the very end But it’s worth the wait and is the most satisfying of this half hour special See more 11/02/2022 The most faithful version you will get but I still love the Tim Burton one the most. See more 08/06/2017 One of my favorite movies by disney, it has all the charm of the classic animated films without the cheese of the new ones, im 32 years old and have watched this one with my family every year around halloween since i can remember. Even as a teen who was to cool for school and did little with my family i still made time to come home and watch this one with dad and my sisters now that were grown i hope to continue the tradition with our kids. Anyways, it's funny but Katrina looks too much like Cinderella and the forest scene reminded me of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves"... so I didn't like it very much.
