C4Darkmane Dolph does his traditional bad guy routine, and Scot Adkins is wasted yet again, If this was cut down and turned into a series of Scot vs Dolph monster hunting it would have made a great show for TV. all in all better than Spice World Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/15/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a pretty underrated flick. You have 2 very talented martial artists and they didn't just randomly make them show off which is a great move I have to admit as it goes against cliched scenes and honestly the acting is ok. With a bigger budget they could have done a lot more. As it is It is a good film for a lazy Sunday. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I thoroughly enjoy B movies. good stuff in general. recognize the girl from ip man. and who doesn't enjoy Scott Adkins! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/18 Full Review ava c ***May Contain Spoilers and/or Plot Devices*** First, let me say that I love Dolph Lundgren. I love most of his really bad straight to dvd movies. I also like Scott Atkins. I like most of his high action martial arts movies, even when they seriously lack well developed plots. It's always fun to just watch him kick butt, and appreciate his martial arts abilities. Indeed, I only watched this movie because Dolph Lundgren and Scott Atkins are in it. That being said... this movie really BITES! I hadn't gone more than a half hour into this movie when I was just wishing someone would shoot Dolph Lundgren's character. He was the worst kind of one dimensional card board cut out fanatic. He basically said one line 50 different ways throughout the entire movie. Really? Who wrote this drivel, a teenager for a film project? This was also Scott Atkins attempt to broaden his acting abilities.... However, it seriously didn't work. When you think of Scott Atkins, you are probably like me, you think of his awesome martial arts abilities, and the awesome fight sequences that he's had in other films. You don't picture him turning tail and running from the guy on the moped, you think of him turning around and kicking him off of the moped. Really? The role was just out of character for him. He wasn't believable in it. All that being said... this movie was really bad. One man wants to catch unknown, massive killer creature, and one man wants to slaughter it for a new trophy. Cliché. The two spend the whole movie in this deadlocked feud over who is going to get to the creature first. Of course, the scientist finds it, and then the trophy hunter turns up to slaughter it. Predictable. The whole thing was painful to sit through. Add to that the really bad CGI that made what should have been a horrible monster type creature into an oversized gecko, and you have a really bad almost comical finale. They spend the whole movie trying to capture this man-eating monster only to find that said monster looks like the Geico gecko only on massive steroids. They couldn't have come up with something more interesting for an undiscovered species than an oversized lizard? I mean, I suppose an oversized man-eating lizard is better than an oversized man-eating rabbit, or it would have been, if more effort had been made on the CGI, but really, it's a narrow margin. I've seen scarier looking creatures in really bad 80's creature features. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Modestly budgeted UK/China co-production about Scott Adkins and Dolph Lundgren traveling to China to find a legendary giant lizard. Adkins wants to capture it and study it. Dolph wants to kill it. This film follows the familiar dueling hunters formula, but does it within a SyFy Channel type of monster story. Unfortunately, this film wants to be "Jurassic Park" when it clearly should have embraced it's true corny inner self and admitted that it's more akin to "Anaconda" or "Lake Placid." Not terrible, but nothing all that good either. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very enjoyable movie! Definitely a 'B' movie with Dolph Lundgren at his wooden best. Harkens back to old time 50's monster in the woods kind of film. With some comedy and more action added. Recommended for a fun movie.
