Audience Member Excellent documentary about John Lennon and his career. Very up close and personal. Lots of music making, life with Yoko Ono, tv-appearances, concert material, solo career, relationships with other celebrities, sense of humour, his personal character, beliefs, ups and downs, and so on. This is in fact the best documentary on John Lennon, his life and music, that I have seen, and I have seen several of them. I recommend it to anyone who likes Lennon's music even a bit. It gives an excellent idea on who he is, what he did, how he lived, who he lived with, his family, what kind of music maker he was and so on. Appearances and interviews by his fellow musicians and friends. Directed and written by Epstein, who was very close to John Lennon. I liked the way this film gives one a picture of John. It manages to give one an indepth view to the person and musical genius of John Lennon, without being too shallow, retaining style from start to the end. Without idealizing the man, but being blunt and honest, like the man was in his life. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member More of a biography of his last 9 years but skipping over pretty much anything negative to paint the image of a saint among men. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Somewhat interesting documentary detailing John's life in New York with some good footage of performances and interviews. enjoyed it, if a bit long. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Also SFF. Gee's this was really good. John Lennon is up there with micheal jackson and elvis preseley as far as i'm concerned. Seeing and hearing all the recordings and footage is quite amazing as it makes the viewer realise he's been dead for 30 yrs. This is a wart's and all view of one of the 20th century's most influential artist's. From the end of the beatles to the very end in december 1980. It's hard to believe he was only 40 yrs old. What a life he had !!!! Also great is seeing the footage of new york in the 70's. It goes into great detail how the nixon government tried to deport him because they viewed him as a radical and a subversive. he just wanted everybody to get a fair go in life. I just think about all the great music he might have made if he wasn't killed at such a young age. Very highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Christopher Long Movie Metropolis This is a story about a life shared by two lovers and artists who found, lost, and then found each other again. Its quite moving even if it smoothes out the story a bit. Rated: 7/10 Feb 26, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews
