Leonard Klady Variety This malevolent little horror item is a nasty piece of business that revels in chicanery and gore. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle If you saw the first film, you know what it's about already, because it's basically -- no, completely -- the same film with different victims. Rated: 0/5 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Justin Brown Medium Popcorn The story didn't make any sense and was a very frustrating watch. There was nothing fun or entertaining about this film. Rated: 1/5 Oct 16, 2024 Full Review Brandon Collins Medium Popcorn This was painfully bad. The best thing about it is the short run time. Rated: 1/5 Oct 16, 2024 Full Review Matthew Rozsa matthewrozsa.com Leprechaun 2, unlike the bland original film, contains a lot of the things you would want to see in a horror movie about an evil leprechaun. Rated: 3/4 Nov 30, 2020 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed The sequel fails to make the leprechaun a valid monster in his second outing, and fares no better in the later films. Erik B Not as fun as the first one because there's no Jennifer Aniston to ogle. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/25 Full Review SkyRo P Leprechaun 2 might not have been the anticipated sequel following the mixed reviews of the original film, yet it surprisingly forged ahead with the franchise. Despite not receiving the critical praise it may have hoped for, the first film cultivated a dedicated cult following, cementing the leprechaun as a lasting figure in horror history. However, the sequel falls short compared to its predecessor. The opening scene, featuring a girl and a medieval setting, feels disjointed and inconsistent with the tone established in the first film. This shift to a historical backdrop before returning to the modern world felt out of place and detracted from the overall experience. Another drawback is the absence of the original cast, including Jennifer Aniston. Instead, the film introduces a new group of characters, which I found acceptable, but their performances lacked the charm and charisma of the original ensemble. It would have been nice to see familiar faces return, as they played a significant role in building the cult status of the first movie. Fans were eager to chase after that elusive pot of gold alongside the leprechaun, and the lack of cameos felt like a missed opportunity. The plot continues to follow the familiar storyline of the leprechaun seeking his stolen gold. Warwick Davis remains a standout performer, bringing humor and energy to the role, and his antics keep audiences engaged. Unfortunately, the new cast is rather forgettable, leading to confusion between the second and third installments, as they seem to blend together. In conclusion, if you're diving into the Leprechaun series, I would still suggest giving this sequel a watch. Warwick Davis continues to shine as the titular character, making it worthwhile for fans of the franchise. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/25 Full Review Jimmy J A too-often overlooked masterpiece, on the level of Killer Klowns form Outer Space. You can not like the movies humor, but you can't deny the humorous aspect is done very well. It is a shame this movie has a 9 percent critic score Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review Audience Member One of the greatest moments in American cinema’s history. A true masterpiece Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/23 Full Review J B Bad acting, but still love these movies. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/15/23 Full Review Damien T Now this is a Leprechaun film that I like the most, Leprechaun 2! Warwick Davis' performance was amazing here as well, but the other actors' performances were an average for me along with the screenplay. Rodman Flender's direction was pretty good however, along with Jonathan Elias' score in my opinion. The special effects were pretty good for me as well! I'll give this film 5 out of 5 stars and an "A+" grade. I also recommend this film to fans of the Leprechaun franchise! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
