This revealing film is filled with pleasant balladry from a likable troubadour; but it also shows what it’s like to sing his little tunes while under unfathomable pressure. Go to Full Review

Remarkably, “How I’m Feeling Now” manages to escape most of the promotional trappings of its ilk, striking a more meaningful note than other pop star docs. Go to Full Review

Capaldi has never been one to shy away from his emotions in his songs, but his openness in this raw and unflinching documentary is a step beyond that, both brave and inspiring. Go to Full Review

Rob H Nov 15 If he's anything like how he's portrayed in this documentary, Lewis Capaldi is a beautiful, wonderful human being. Focused primarily on his home and studio existence during and just after the pandemic, How I'm Feeling Now tells the story of Lewis trying to make his sophomore album, and the massive pressure on him to make it as successful as his debut. You'll learn how close Lewis is with family and friends, and that he'll make a joke at nearly every opportunity provided. While his music is played throughout, there's not much in-depth discussion about it. This is mostly about his personal connections and partially about his mental health journey. There's nothing edgy or novel about the presentation, this is a traditional and enjoyable documentary about a man worth celebrating. The level of raw emotion thrown into this documentary is unreal. Lewis presents himself to millions of people, showing them that his humor is not always present all day. There are times that people need a break and he showcased it very well. He did not keep any secrets hidden. We often see him come out and do what most of us call 'stand up comedy' and singing on stage. However, what happens behind the scenes? What happens off stage. This exemplifies the truth to those out their who only see the front cover. It does contain swearing, so I would not say that it is the most suitable for children, but it can really show them that we should not always envy the life of a celebrity. It is a pain to some when we see his condition take a toll on his mental health condition. Which may cause difficulty to certain viewers. However, in summary it is an eye opener at best. The film captures the essence of his music, showcasing his powerful voice and soulful lyrics. But it goes beyond that, delving into the man behind the music. It's a celebration of his triumphs, his humor, and his ability to connect with audiences on a profound level. So grab your popcorn, prepare to laugh until your sides hurt, and maybe have a box of tissues nearby. "Lewis Capaldi: How I Am Feeling Now" is a must-watch documentary that will leave you feeling inspired, entertained, and with a newfound appreciation for one of the most relatable and down-to-earth pop stars of our time. Lewis's vulnerability will no doubt help many people struggling with their mental health. He brought some light to an otherwise dark topic but in a way that didn't lessen the issues at hand. I laughed, I cried - what more could I want from a documentary! Lewis deserves everything good coming his way. Oh and despite what his amazing and supportive parents say - pretender is not shite and I very much hope it's on the new album! See more Read all reviews
