Audience Member Christian Slater and Cuba Gooding Jr. did a smooth job, but the story had a lane execution, it had bad action, and a horrible ending. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Laughable. Should be a comedy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member this is even bad for a B movie Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Lies and Illusions is not nearly as bad as everyone wants you to believe. Though the acting is a bit hammy it almost works to the films advantage as the writing and directing is weak thus the actors are the only real saving grace and Slater thrives with the responsibility even if it took him half the movie to realize this film is more comedy than action. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Bad story, bad acting and even a pretty bad girl/girl fight. These actors need better agents to shield themselves from these kinds of mistakes.. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review dave j Monday, June 17, 2013 (2009) Lies and Illusion ACTION THRILLER Pure straight-to-rental dog crap centering on love guru successful book writer Wes Wilson (Christian Slater) unknowingly getting involved with his fiancé's undercover job as a spy who stole a list of names as well as millions of dollars worth of diamonds. Cuba Gooding JR as Isaac trying to retrieve his diamonds and assumes that he can get it from Wes since his ex was said to be deceased, for he thinks. This movie stinks because the situations don't feel real, the action scenes doesn't feel real looking like children playing with toy guns. All of the action happen in broad daylight without a single call for police is one of the far fetched things I had ever seen. And would anyone believe actor Christian Slater as a writer, or Cuba Gooding JR as top main bad guy when the roles should be reversed.
