Lions Love has a graceful surface, but it lacks a sense of the fitness of things -- and I don’t mean empty proprieties but true sensibility. Go to Full Review

More than a time capsule of events and moods-it's a living aesthetic model for revolutionary times. Go to Full Review

The result is a pleasant, sometimes humorous blend of style and technique that ultimately is unsuccessful. Go to Full Review

In Lion's Love Agnes Varda goes from the intellectual coldness of the French school to the dull, cold films of Warhol. Go to Full Review

The interrelation of themes, the weaving back and forth between acting and actuality, is fascinating. And that strong sense of the ambience of Los Angeles. Go to Full Review

Jens B @Jens97 08/15/2024 "I hate every form of entertainment, including living." The end of the Counter Culture's hippie dream? + loved the star montage (and basically every other montage in this film) + Varda has a great sense of editing and a great eye for detail - stunning! + this has to be the most 1969 movie I have ever seen (Tarantino's wet dream?) + adored the sequence of our throuple using giant 60s phones in different colors Why the low rating? - the story just doesn't work for me (and yes, this is a narrative feature, albeit an experimental one) - the characters got on my nerves FAST - 2 hours is a bit much for a breezy California summer flick = if you like time capsules like I do, this is one to sink your teeth in (I'm writing this while sick in bed, so take it with a grain of salt) "There is no cinematheque either. It is as if Hollywood is ashamed of its past." See more 12/23/2020 Es una película muy bella, y disfruté mucho que deja ver el proceso entre partes. See more 12/06/2014 At first I did not like this movie. The 3 stars were saying things that were supposed to be meaningful and symbolic but which I wasn't getting and only saw as frivolous nonsense until I realized it was frivolous nonsense. They represent what freedom brings to the bourgeoisie: senseless nonsense. Juxtaposed against the assassination of Bobby Kennedy this film is brilliant. See more Read all reviews
